DevelopROC presents new plans to transform Bull’s Head neighborhood

WHAM │ January 22, 2024

Rochester, N.Y. — New life is coming to the Bull’s Head neighborhood. The team at DevelopROC presented their plans to transform the area, which has experienced significant disinvestment over several decades.

The spring work begins on a new ESL Branch, and demolition begins in parts of the neighborhood’s plaza.

Throughout the revitalization effort, more than 800 new residential units will be built, along with communal spaces such as parks, businesses, and walkways will be expanded.

“We still have people who have lived there in that neighborhood for 50 plus years, and so we’re really excited to bring it back to a state where it’s activated and there are people there and a vibrancy there,” said Melissa Geska, president, US Ceiling Corp.

“A key component of the project is going to be mixed, making sure we are staying true to the existing community and addressing the need of the existing residents as well as bringing new residents,” said Dennis Pemberton, executive managing director, Dawson Company.

DevelopROC is also planning to bring several workforce development programs to bring new skilled workers to the Bull’s Head neighborhood.
